We don’t always feel bright, positive and happy. No one does all the time. The importance is knowing how to reconnect with our inner light and wisdom.
When we feel down, it’s easy to numb out with external stimuli hoping it will make us happy again. But the truth is, it usually doesn’t last.
I know this feeling so well.
After discovering my unique Human Design and Gene Keys, I found clarity with my cycles and creative process. I’m a Projector and have the 1st Gene Key (Entropy | Freshness | Beauty) as my Life’s Work and Brand spheres.
The secret to harnessing creativity lies in the 1st shadow of Entropy. It takes courage, patience, and trust to break new ground.
When I feel that sense of emptiness, I don’t ruin it by numbing out. Instead, I get present by doing one of the following things:
✦ Get out in nature – I pay attention to what catches my eye, the smells, temperature, plants, colors, thoughts that arise. Nature is forever the best source of inspiration.
✦ Turn inward – I’ll do a meditation or visualization to see what’s brewing beneath the surface. If I’m feeling blocked, I’ll pray and/or use oracle cards.
✦ Move my body – Often times, when my monkey mind goes crazy, I need to get back into my body to tune out the noise. I’ll do a sauna, yoga, dance or HIIT workout.
✦ Spend time with loved ones – Walking away from a creative project that feels blocked to spend time with family and friends is such good medicine and a great way to recharge.
✦ Know that it’s temporary – When I accept that this is how I ebb and flow, and that it will pass, I’m able to rest. That way I feel so much more refreshed afterwards and my creative spark inevitably returns.
If you are feeling more burned out than brilliant, I see you. Even the sun sets and rises again in the morning. Tomorrow is a new day so rest now. You will feel so much better.
